Wow, long time-no talk! I haven't purposefully stayed away, life just got in the way. Bad excuse? Yeah, I know...
But here I am, back and writing; with almost a full first semester of college under my belt. And that's what I want to talk about- college! To put it shortly, I love college. I love being out on my own, making my own decisions, and staying up until all hours of the night (even on school nights) to read and explore classes I'm truly interested in. I won't disclose too much more because I am planning on writing a lengthier post on school after the new year, but I will say this: I'm happier than I've ever been. I am fulfilled and excited to see what each new day holds. I promise to do better and not stay away as long. Truth is, I've missed writing and I'm going to make a point to do it more often.
~So on to the actual post!~
This Fall has brought some great products into my life. I've been keeping track of some items that I would recommend to others, and now I've compiled my first seasonal "Hits" list. Here's the list, hope you enjoy!
1. Every chilly autumn/winter day needs to start and end with a good cup of tea! Harney & Sons has an amazing selection of hearty black teas to help you get along well in the colder parts of the year. Their Holiday blend is to die for! It's been a favorite of mine for years. Steep for 4-6 minutes and enjoy with a drizzle of honey. It makes the perfect gift for the holidays as well! Give it a try!
2. MAC paint pots have always been a hit or miss with me in the past. However, with an update in packaging earlier in 2014, these babies no longer dry out as fast. I've been loving mine in the color "Vintage". These are ideal for women in a rush who need a product to swipe across their lid that is a 1-step wonder. The highly pigmented formula provides long lasting color and dimension, Definitely worth its price! And the best part? There's multiple colors, so everyone has choices! Check out the full range here!
3. This one is pretty simple-eyeliner. Most days I go without it, but on the days I want to spice things up I always turn to my Estee Lauder Pure Color Kajal EyeLiner. I have mine in the color "Blackened Cocoa". I love this product because it can be natural, yet is build-able for a more dramatic effect. It glides on like a breeze and stays for hours. I would definitely recommend this beauty to anyone in search of a versatile eye product. Find it here!
4. Oooooh man, this product is the holy grail of cleansers! Lately liquid cleansers just haven't made the cut for my skin needs. I found them non effective, but overall--super drying to my skin! Thankfully, I discovered Ultrabland cleanser from LUSH Cosmetics. What's cool about this cleanser is that it's a balm made of all natural ingredients such as beeswax and almond oil. These ingredients not only remove any type of grime or makeup (even the waterproof stuff!), but the natural oils and beeswax moisturize the skin! It's an almost perfect dupe for the famous Clinique Take the Day Off Balm, but half the price! Give it a go!
5. I don't know about anyone else, but this is definitely the time of year when my lips are so chapped, I can't stand to go out of the house without 3 options for chapstick in my purse! Thankfully, LUSH's Lip Scrubs exist! I've never found another lip scrub that could exfoliate without irritating my lips. This product does the trick. They come in a few different flavors, and they make the perfect stocking stuffer for the holidays! Special thanks to my roommate, Kellie, for introducing this into my life. Now introduce it into yours!
6. A good mascara is the key to polishing any makeup look. I search out qualities such as dark pigmentation, something that is non-irritating to my sensitive eyes, and one that won't flake. I've never personally been a fan of waterproof mascaras, so this suggestion isn't waterproof (sorry!). Benefit's BadGal Lash mascara is perfect! I love the tear-drop shape of the brush--it pulls the lashes to separate them, but fully coats them in the product. Benefit always pulls through with their mascaras. Fall in love here!
So there it is-my Autumn hits! I hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts on these products. I'll be seeing you all soon with a special holiday post!
Take care!
