Tips To Increase Creativity

Lately there has been a disconnect between my brain and my creativity. Normally when I am feeling inspired I reach for a pencil to draw, my laptop to type, or a spatula to cook. However, I haven't felt like doing any of those things in ages. For me, that's actually pretty normal. I tend to go through periods of time where I'm completely dizzy with creativity, to desperately searching for a single drop of inspiration.

So how do I get out of my ruts? Well, when I find out a way that works I'll let you know. As for now, I only have a few tricks what only somewhat help. Nonetheless, they do help!

  1. Watch your favorite films. I love movies! I'm not really into action or comedy ones, I prefer romance and dramas. A good movie can get you inspired to let out creativity. If you need some good ones to watch I recommend The Way, Easy Virtue, and A Picture of Dorian Grey.
  2.  Try a new recipe. Cooking is super important to me! However, when I'm in a rut I always try a new recipe to spark interest. I just recently tried this recipe and felt super excited -Chicken Tikka Marsala Now, I have been cooking since I was very young and am quite adventurous when it comes to experimenting, but if you're new in the kitchen here is an easier suggestion :)- Pot De Creme
  3. Read. I cannot stress this one enough! Reading opens so many doors! It helps increase your vocabulary, your knowledge, and boosts inspiration. Whenever I have a free moment I pick up a book. My ongoing favorites are Local Girls by Alice Hoffman and Lucia Lucia by Adriana Trigiani.
So those are my tips, they don't always cure my moodiness, but they always help! I hope you all enjoyed this post, I can't wait to bring you another one this weekend!
