Goodbye June, Hello Adventure!

Here I am with my friend Rachel (right) on our graduation.
As the month of June is about to wrap up I'm reflecting on what I've done so far with my summer, and what is yet to come. It has no doubt been one of the busiest times of my life! In the past month I've done many things; from graduating high school, braving a week of Senior trip with 15 of my closest friends, attending my college freshmen orientation, to planning my 16 day trip abroad to Ireland to visit my best friend, Clara. It's been a crazy month-but I've been so blessed with amazing opportunities! And the best part? I still have another month and a half of vacation!

Of course they put me, the shortest, in the middle! Our
Senior trip brought some amazing memories.
I feel as if I didn't even have time to be sad about graduating because less than 48 hours after receiving my diploma I was off to the beach for our Senior trip! It was a crazy week spent with 15 of my fellow classmates. We hit the beach every day, enjoyed "family" dinners (prepared often by me), and had fun hanging out at the local night clubs. Living with 15 other people isn't always that easy, but I would say we made it through intact and all still friends by the end . Coming from a high school with a graduating class under 40 students somewhat forces you to be close with your classmates. I can honestly say that I love my class like a second family. Yeah, we're a bit dysfunctional, but when we're together we have the best of times. I will never forget the week we all spent together, soaking up sun and creating life-long memories.

Here is Clara and I last summer when she came
and visited me for two weeks. This was taken at
my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary party.
So what's coming up for me? This Monday, June 30th, I'm boarding a 7 hour flight to Dublin, Ireland. There I will be greeted by my best friend, Clara, and her family. They are kindly hosting me for a couple of weeks to visit. I am beyond excited to see them all, it's been over a year since I was last with Clara. Of course she has kept the details of my trip mostly a secret, so I'm not really sure what all we will be doing--but one thing is for certain, I know I'm going to have the time of my life! I'm somewhat nervous to travel alone, but the excitement of the whole thing is far outweighing the anxiety. I'll be staying with Clara's family in Cork, Ireland. Right now they are having a very pleasant summer--only 64 degrees Fahrenheit! It will be a nice change from West Virginia's 85+ degrees! I am planning on taking loads of pictures while on my trip, and uploading a new post as soon as I get home.

All in all, it's been an amazing summer--and there's still time for it to be even better! I look forward to chatting with you all soon after my trip.

Until then,

-Sarah x
